Accessibility

Messy Mutts wants every pet parent to be able to shop with us easily, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control or keyboard-only navigation.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, an internationally recognized standard for accessible websites. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we review and improve our site regularly.

What we have done

Added descriptive text to product images so they can be understood by screen readers
Improved colour contrast on text, buttons and banners so they are easier to read
Labelled links, buttons and image carousels so screen readers announce them clearly
Provided a “Skip to content” link and a fully translated French version of our site
Tested key pages, including product, collection, cart and contact pages, against WCAG 2.1 AA using automated tools

Known limitations

Some parts of our site are provided by third parties, such as payment, shipping, review and marketing tools, and Google’s store badge. We work with these providers where we can, but we do not control all of their content.
