Framed "Spill Resistant" Silicone Dog Treat Mold, 9.5" x 9.5"
Made with
Framed Treat Mold
$22.00

Ingredients

  • 2 cups seedless watermelon, rind and all seeds removed, cubed
  • 1/4 cup plain unsweetened yogurt or kefir (optional, for a creamy swirl)
Pantry safety check: no xylitol, grapes, raisins, onion, garlic, chocolate or macadamia nuts. Always check labels on broths and nut butters.

Method

  1. Double-check the watermelon for seeds and remove every bit of rind.
  2. Blend the watermelon until completely smooth.
  3. Spoon the purée into the Framed Treat Mold. The sturdy frame keeps it from spilling on the way to the freezer.
  4. For a swirl, drop a little yogurt or kefir into each bone and drag a spoon through it.
  5. Freeze for at least 4 hours, then pop one out and serve outside on a warm day.

Why it's good for them

Watermelon is mostly water, so it's a tasty way to add hydration on hot days. Yogurt or kefir adds live cultures.

Storage

Keep frozen in a sealed bag for a few weeks. Watermelon is naturally sweet, so keep these as an occasional treat and portions small.
